Velocity is a third-party Chrome extension that works with LinkedIn, Xing, GitHub, and Vincere to support online sourcing.

  • When using Velocity on LinkedIn, the workflow is different from Xing and GitHub. Instead of automatically pulling profile information from LinkedIn, Velocity opens a form with empty LinkedIn-related fields so you can manually copy and paste profile details into the relevant sections.

This change applies to LinkedIn only. Velocity’s behaviour on Xing and GitHub remains unchanged, and automation on those platforms continues to work as before.

  • It is also compatible with Microsoft Edge for users who prefer an alternative browser, although Google Chrome remains the recommended choice for optimal performance.

Download Velocity

  1. Click Add to Chrome to download and install the extension.

  2. Once installed, pin Velocity to your browser extensions for quick access.

📌 Note: You can also access the extension link from Vincere Marketplace.

  1. Navigate to Marketplace inside Vincere.

  2. Locate Velocity and click it.

  3. Click the Chrome download link displayed.

💡 Best Practice: Always ensure your Chrome browser is updated to the latest version before installing extensions.

Install Velocity in Microsoft Edge

  1. Open Microsoft Edge and go to Settings, then click Extensions.

  2. Enable Allow extensions from other stores.

  3. Visit the Velocity Chrome Web Store link using Edge.

  4. Click Add to Edge and complete installation.

  5. Verify installation by ensuring the extension is active in your Edge extensions panel.

📌 Note: Edge must be the Chromium-based version for compatibility.

Connect Velocity to Vincere

Once you've installed Velocity, you can connect Velocity to Vincere.

  1. Go to any LinkedIn profile.

  2. Click the Velocity extension icon in the top-right corner.

  3. Select Connect to Vincere.

  4. On the Vincere Access page, click AccessVincere, then select Next.

  5. Once successfully connected, the tab will close automatically.

  6. Refresh your LinkedIn page to see Velocity load beside the profile name.

If the connection fails, uninstall and reinstall Velocity to reset the link.

Use Velocity

Velocity integrates directly with LinkedIn, Xing, and GitHub, allowing you to identify, update, and shortlist candidates without leaving the page.

  • The experience may vary depending on the platform you are using. On LinkedIn, profile details are entered manually into the Velocity form. On Xing and GitHub, the existing automated workflow continues as normal.

📌 Note: LinkedIn uses a manual entry workflow. Xing and GitHub continue to support the existing automated sourcing flow.

Identify Candidates or Contacts

On LinkedIn, when you open Velocity, the form appears with empty LinkedIn-related fields so you can copy and paste profile details into the relevant sections. Some system-generated fields may still populate automatically based on your setup.

Update Profiles

Create or update candidate and contact records directly while viewing a profile online.

  • On LinkedIn, simply copy the relevant profile information into the Velocity form, then save your changes without leaving the page.

View in Vincere

Click View in Vincere to open the person’s record instantly inside Vincere.

Shortlist Candidates

  • Shortlist a candidate directly to one or multiple jobs from their profile.

  • Use the section at the bottom to shortlist the candidate for a job even before adding them to Vincere.

Check for duplicates when you're ready

Duplicate checking on LinkedIn is now handled directly from the form.

After entering the relevant profile information, click Check for Duplicates at the bottom of the Contact Info section.

You may see one of these results:

  • No duplicates found — a confirmation message appears so you can continue creating the record

  • Possible duplicates found — a warning message appears with possible matches for you to review before proceeding

This gives you more control, because you can complete the form first and run the duplicate check only when you are ready.

Add work experience and education in structured fields

The Work Experience and Education sections on LinkedIn use structured entry fields to make data entry clearer and more accurate.

Instead of entering everything into one free-text box, you can add each entry in its own set of fields.

For Work Experience, you can enter:

  • Job Title

  • Company Name

  • Work Duration

  • Description

For Education, you can enter:

  • School Name

  • Degree

  • Start Date / Graduation Date

  • Description

You can also:

  • Click + Add Work Experience or + Add Education to add multiple entries

  • Remove entries you no longer need

  • Save all entries as part of the record in Vincere

Upload a profile photo manually

Profile photos are no longer automatically captured from LinkedIn.

When creating or updating a candidate or contact, you can manually add a photo by clicking the avatar placeholder in the form.

You can then:

  • upload an image file from your computer

  • or paste an image URL

Supported image formats are:

  • .jpg

  • .jpeg

  • .png

A preview is shown before you save, and you can change or remove the image before submitting the form.

Uploading a photo is optional. You can still create the record without one. If a photo upload fails, the record can still be created successfully.

Open Velocity from LinkedIn in two ways

You can launch Velocity on LinkedIn in either of these ways:

  • Click the Velocity icon in your Chrome toolbar

  • Right-click anywhere on a LinkedIn profile page and select Add to Vincere

The right-click option is especially useful if the Velocity icon does not display correctly on the LinkedIn page.

When you open Velocity on a LinkedIn profile:

  • The form opens with empty LinkedIn-related fields

  • You can manually copy and paste profile details into the form

  • Some system-generated fields may still populate automatically based on your setup

  • The Re-crawl data option is no longer available on LinkedIn pages

  • Creating and updating candidates, contacts, and job shortlists continues to work as before

  • All existing validation rules still apply

📌 Notes: Clicking it opens the same Velocity form as clicking the toolbar icon. And if the Velocity form is already open, it will be brought to focus.

⚠️ Important

  • These changes apply to LinkedIn only

  • Xing and GitHub continue to use the existing automated sourcing workflow

  • There is no loss of core functionality — candidate/contact creation, updates, job shortlisting, and validation all continue to work

  • The right-click menu and the latest LinkedIn workflow are available in Google Chrome with the latest version of the Velocity extension installed

Incomplete candidate details

Review the information entered in the Velocity form before saving.
On LinkedIn, profile details are entered manually and the Re-crawl option is not available, so make sure the required fields are completed before you proceed.
