✨ Overview

We've enhanced the Velocity Chrome extension with a refreshed LinkedIn workflow and several usability improvements that give you more control over your data entry process.

These updates ensure your recruitment activities remain fully compliant with LinkedIn's platform policies — so you can source with confidence.

Velocity's automation on Xing and GitHub continues to work exactly as before.

✨ Compliant LinkedIn Workflow

Velocity now features a streamlined, compliance-friendly workflow for creating candidate and contact records from LinkedIn profiles. This update keeps your sourcing activities aligned with LinkedIn's platform policies while giving you full control over the data you capture.

👉 What's New

When you open Velocity on a LinkedIn profile, the form starts fresh with blank fields — ready for you to fill in and some fields automatically filled for you.

Creating candidates, contacts, and shortlists works exactly as before.

The "Re-crawl data" button has been removed to ensure compliance with LinkedIn's policies.

💡 Why It Matters

LinkedIn's platform policies don't allow automated data extraction from profiles. By introducing this new workflow, we're ensuring that all Vincere users can continue sourcing candidates from LinkedIn confidently and compliantly — without any risk to your account or your candidates' data.

✨ On-Demand Duplicate Checking

Take control of your duplicate checking with a new dedicated button that lets you verify records on your terms.

👉 What's New

Check When You're Ready
A new "Check for Duplicates" button in the Contact Info section puts you in the driver's seat. Complete your form first, then check for duplicates when it suits your workflow.

How it works:

  1. Fill in the form

  2. Click the "Check for Duplicates" button when you're ready

  • No duplicates found: A green confirmation appears — "No duplicates found. You're good to go!"

  • Duplicates found: An orange warning shows possible matches. Review the details and decide how to proceed.

💡 Why It Matters

No more interruptions mid-form. Complete your data entry first, then verify duplicates when you're ready — giving you a smoother, more efficient workflow.

✨ Structured Work Experience & Education Entry

The Work Experience and Education sections have been completely redesigned with structured, labelled fields for easier and more accurate data entry.

👉 What's New

Clearly Labelled Input Fields
Instead of typing everything into a single text box, you now enter each piece of information into its own field.

For Work Experience, the fields are:

  • Job Title

  • Company Name

  • Work Duration (From / To)

  • Description

For Education, the fields are:

  • School Name

  • Degree

  • Start Date / Graduation Date

  • Description

Additional features:

  • Click "+ Add Work Experience" or "+ Add Education" to add multiple entries

  • Click the "✕ Remove" button on any entry to remove it

  • Each entry is numbered (#1, #2, etc.) for easy reference

  • All entries are automatically combined and saved to the candidate record in Vincere

📌 Important Notes

As part of our compliant LinkedIn workflow, company logos are no longer automatically pulled from LinkedIn. Work Experience entries will display the default Vincere company logo instead.

💡 Why It Matters

Structured fields make data entry faster and more accurate, ensuring information maps cleanly to the correct fields in Vincere.

✨ Quick Access via Right-Click Menu

You can now open Velocity directly from your browser's right-click context menu for faster access.

👉 What's New

New "Add to Vincere" Context Menu Option
When you right-click on a LinkedIn profile page, you'll see an "Add to Vincere" option with the Velocity icon.

What you'll notice:

  • Right-click anywhere on a LinkedIn profile page to see the "Add to Vincere" option

  • Clicking it opens the same Velocity form as clicking the toolbar icon

  • If the Velocity form is already open, it will be brought to focus

📌 Important Notes

The "Add to Vincere" option (both in the right-click menu and on the profile) only appears when your Vincere account is connected to Velocity. If you don't see it, check that you're logged in to Velocity with your Vincere credentials.

💡 Why It Matters

A faster way to launch Velocity without having to find the extension icon in your toolbar — especially useful if you have many extensions installed.

✨ Profile Photo Upload

As part of our compliant LinkedIn workflow, profile photos are no longer automatically captured. To make sure your records stay polished and complete, we've introduced a simple way to add photos yourself — giving you full control over the images you use.

Photos are optional - records can still be created without one.

How it works:

  1. Click the avatar placeholder to open a file picker

  2. Select an image from your computer (supported formats: .jpg, .jpeg, .png) or paste an image URL to load a photo from the web

  3. Preview the thumbnail before saving

  4. Change or remove the image at any time before submitting

📌 Important Notes

  • LinkedIn compliance: All updates ensure your LinkedIn sourcing activities are fully compliant with platform policies. Xing and GitHub workflows remain unchanged.

  • No data loss: Existing Velocity features including form validation, candidate/contact creation and updates, and job shortlisting continue to work as exactly as before.

  • Browser support: All features including the new right-click menu are available on Google Chrome with the latest Velocity extension.
