Installing Velocity on Google Chrome

How to install Velocity developer package

πŸ“Œ A recent update to LinkedIn has impacted Velocity, our Chrome extension.

The review process is still with Google to verify Velocity's newest version.

  • In the meantime, if you'd like to use Velocity, please follow the instructions below to download a temporary version of Velocity.

Here's what to do ⬇️

Step 1: Download Velocity

  • Click πŸ‘‰ this link πŸ‘ˆ or copy and paste it into your Chrome browser to download Velocity.

  • The file will be downloaded as a zip file to your computer.

Step 2: Extract the Zip File

  1. Once the zip file is downloaded, locate the file in your downloads folder.

  2. Right-click on the zip file and choose Extract all.

  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to extract the contents of the file.

Step 3: Open Chrome Extension Page

  1. Open your Chrome browser.

  2. Type chrome://extensions/ in the address bar to navigate to the Extension Management page.

Step 4: Activate Developer Mode

  1. Look for the β€œDeveloper Mode” option at the top right corner of the Extension management page.

  2. Toggle it on to activate this mode.
    ​

Step 5: Load Unpacked Extension

  1. Locate the β€œLoad unpacked” option, usually presented as a button or an icon at the top left corner of the Extension management page.
    ​

  2. Click on it to initiate the process of adding your extension.

Step 6: Choose Extension Folder

  1. Upon clicking β€œLoad unpacked”, a file explorer window will appear.

  2. Navigate to the folder containing the extracted content of the zip file from Step 2

  3. Double-click on the "Velocity" folder to open the "public" folder

    • πŸ“ Note: No need to double-click on the "public" folder

  4. Click on the "public" folder

  5. Click on "Select folder"

Step 7: Confirm and Install

  1. Chrome will process the selected folder and install the extension in Developer Mode.

  2. You will see the extension added to your list of installed extensions upon successful installation.

Step 8: Log in to Velocity

  1. Open a LinkedIn profile

  2. Click on the Velocity icon

  3. Click on "Connect to Vincere"

  4. Login to Velocity as per usual

Step 9: Activate Velocity

  1. Go back to the LinkedIn profile

  2. Click on the Velocity icon

  3. The LinkedIn profile will automatically reload

  4. Wait a few seconds until the Add to Vincere button appears

Once the newest version of Velocity [3.0.2] is available in the Chrome store, you can safely disable the developer version and update the Original installation. If you encounter any issues or if you have questions, please feel free to reach out to our Support team.
