Wildcards are personalisation tokens / merge tags you can use and add into your document builder and email template.
How does it work?
For example: When you indicate that you would like to use the Contact name wildcard, Vincere will look into the record in system, find the Contact name field, pull the value from and populate it in your template where you designate automatically.
All you need to do is look for the wildcard you want to insert into your templates, click at the wildcard box and the wildcard will be auto inserted inside the templates where you place your censor.
For Email Templates:
Select the template you are trying to configure from Settings > Email Templates
To use the wildcard, simply select the wildcard from the list on the right-hand side.
Best Practices for Using Wildcards
Always insert wildcards using the template editor’s tools (e.g., the blue box) to ensure proper functionality. Typing wildcards manually can lead to errors.
Note: For email template wildcards, you can only use the wildcards that are available on that template number. You are not allowed to create your own wildcards here.
Mandatory Wildcard Use and Workarounds
Certain wildcards, such as those required for SignRequest functionality, must be included in templates regardless of their immediate relevance:
SignRequest Wildcards: All four wildcards (e.g., Proposal Signatory fields) are mandatory for the SignRequest tool to function. To hide unnecessary fields:
Change the text color of unwanted wildcards to white.
Adjust the font size to its smallest value to make them hidden without removing.
Wildcard Availability by Template
Email Template 6.1: This template does not support client name (
#clientname#
) or position location (#position location#
) wildcards.Email Template 7.1: To include client names, use the wildcard
#Contact.Companyname#
. Ensure correct data population by inserting the wildcard via the blue box in the template editor rather than typing it manually.
For Document Builder:
Select the Doc Type and template you are trying to configure from Settings > Document Builder
To use the wildcard, simply select the wildcard from the list on the right-hand side.
Wildcards in the Document Builder include custom wildcards - meaning you can create and customise your own wildcard and apply it on the Document Builder template.
