This article explains how to use the Application Stage to manage incoming applications before moving candidates forward in the recruitment process. It also helps you understand how integrated job boards can feed applications into the correct stage.
đ Note: The Application Stage lets you use Shortlisted before moving candidates to Sent or sending them to contacts.

Review Applications in the Application Stage
Open the relevant job, then review the candidates listed in the Applications stage.
Select the checkbox next to the candidate you want to manage.
Review the action panel that appears for the selected candidate.
Use the available actions as needed: Rate Candidate, Set Sub-status, Send job to Candidate, Send CV to Client, Reject candidate, or Remove application.
To move the candidate forward, click Move to next stage, then select the next stage you want to use.
Note: Stage transitions performed using the 'Move to next stage' option are not included in reporting and analytics. To ensure accurate reporting, use the 'Actions' menu for stage transitions.
Move the candidate to one of these stages: Shortlisted, Sent, 1st Interview, 2nd Interview, Offers, or Placed.
đĄ Tip: After moving a candidate to the next stage, the system resets the list view to the top. To streamline your workflow, consider moving candidates you plan to work on next to the Shortlisted stage for easier access.
Control Applications From LogicMelon and Broadbean
Status Updates and Transitions
The Applications stage reflects the status of the active placement. For example:
If a renewal placement is active, the Applications stage will show Active, even if the original placement is marked as Finished.
Previously, Applications may have shown Finished if it was pulling status from the original placement while the renewal was pending. Once the renewal becomes active, the Applications stage updates to Active accordingly. This behavior ensures that the Applications stage always reflects the most current placement status.
Open the relevant job board integration settings, then review how retrieved applications are mapped into your recruitment pipeline.
Choose the option that matches your process, such as adding candidates to Applications or moving them directly to Shortlisted.
Save your changes.
