When you post a job on LinkedIn, you must choose how candidates will apply.

This choice controls:

  • Where applicant details are stored (LinkedIn vs Vincere).

  • Whether applications can be managed in Vincere.

If you want to manage applications in Vincere, the most common and recommended setup is to:

  • Route candidates to an external website (a Vincere job application page) so the application form is hosted in Vincere and candidates are created directly there.

⚠️ Important – LinkedIn rules

  • Once you choose how to receive applicants for a job, you cannot change this after the job is posted.

  • If you choose to receive applicants via email or directly on LinkedIn, applicant data is stored in LinkedIn, which can make it harder to retrieve or migrate later if your workflow changes.

Route Candidates To A Vincere Application Page

Use this option if you want candidates to apply on your Vincere Jobs page so that:

  • Applications are created and tracked in Vincere

  • You can use Vincere workflows, automations and reports from day one

Before you start

Make sure:

  • The job is published to your Vincere Jobs page, and

  • You have the URL of the specific job application page, not just your homepage or generic careers page.

Set up External Apply in LinkedIn

  1. In LinkedIn, create a new job post or edit an existing one.

  2. When you reach the applicant options step (for example Receive qualified applicants), click External Apply then choose the option to let candidates apply on an external website.

  3. Paste the URL of the specific Vincere job application page for this role (not your generic careers page).

  4. (Optional) Add an email address in LinkedIn if you also want email notifications about LinkedIn applicant counts.

  5. Publish the job.

What happens next

  • Candidates click Apply on LinkedIn and are redirected to the Vincere job application page for that specific job.

  • Candidates complete the application form in Vincere, so their details and applications are stored and managed directly in Vincere.

Troubleshooting

External Apply is not available in LinkedIn

If you don’t see the External Apply option in LinkedIn:

  • LinkedIn may be verifying your company or account.

  • Try again in 7 business days. If the option is still missing, follow up with LinkedIn support.

Candidates are landing on the wrong page

If candidates click Apply on LinkedIn and land on an unexpected page:

  • Check that you pasted the specific Vincere job application URL for that job, not:

    • Your website homepage, or

    • A generic careers/ATS landing page.

  • LinkedIn can route either to:

    • A specific job application page, or

    • A generic ATS/careers page.

  • For the best candidate experience and clean reporting, use the job-specific Vincere application URL.

FAQs

Q1: Can I change the LinkedIn applicant option after posting?

  • Answer: No. Once the job is live, LinkedIn locks the applicant collection method for that post.
If you need to change it, you’ll need to create a new job post in LinkedIn with the correct option.

Q2: If candidates apply on LinkedIn, will they appear in Vincere automatically?

  • Answer: Not by default, if you want the application captured directly in Vincere, use External Apply and link to a Vincere job application URL.
