✨ Overview

We've made significant improvements to how split shifts work for weekly recurring patterns. This update preserves your ability to manage the full weekly pattern after any split, eliminating the need for repetitive workarounds when booking multiple candidates to the same recurring shift.

👉 What's New

Pattern Integrity After Splitting

Previously, splitting a recurring weekly shift to book a candidate to a single day permanently fragmented the pattern. The remaining days became disconnected, forcing consultants to manage each shift individually for all future actions.

With this enhancement, splitting a shift creates a structured parent–child relationship

(S0/S1,2, etc) that preserves the original recurring pattern. The original shift (S0) continues to hold the weekly pattern, while the split day (S2, S5) references the original without breaking it.

Example: A consultant creates a weekly shift: Monday–Friday, 09:00–18:00, 1 slot per day. They split Wednesday (the 10th) to book Candidate A. The system now preserves Mon/Wed/Thu/Fri as a cohesive recurring pattern. The consultant can then book Candidate B to the full Monday–Friday pattern in a single action — including Tuesday.

Split Shifts Included in “All Shifts” and “Individual Shifts” Selections

Split shifts are no longer excluded from all shifts or individual shift selection dialogs for weekly shifts. When a day has been previously split and booked, it is still available for subsequent actions.

Select “All Shifts” — includes all days in the recurring pattern, including any previously split days

Select “Individual Shifts” — split days appear as selectable dates in the calendar picker

Updated Dialog Behaviour for Multi-Shift Selections

When selecting “All Shifts” or “Multiple Individual Shifts” on a weekly pattern that contains previously split and booked days, the booking dialog now reflects the mixed state across those shifts.

Workers Tab

  • Pre-booked candidates: shows any candidate pre-booked to at least one of the selected shifts (OR logic)

  • Booked candidates: shows only candidates booked to all selected shifts simultaneously (AND logic)

  • How This Works: an information panel appears when the selection includes multiple split shifts to explain booking behaviour

  • Auto Book: hidden for multi-shift selections with split days

Status and tag labels (except “Previously Booked”) are hidden in the pre-booked candidate list

Shift Details Tab

  • Editable fields (from original S0): Timezone, Location, Note

  • Read-only fields: start/end date, start/end time, break, shift name — displayed per shift in the Shift Details Breakdown table

Search Tab

All search fields reflect original S0 shift values and remain fully editable.

Save Warning

Saving changes to Shift Details or Search fields triggers a confirmation dialog warning that changes will overwrite values across all selected shifts.

💡 Why It Matters

Booking multiple candidates to different days within the same recurring weekly shift used to require time-consuming workarounds. This enhancement restores the full weekly pattern after any split so consultants can manage recurring shifts efficiently without losing visibility or control over the broader schedule.

Important Notes

Scope of this Release

  • The enhance logic will apply to Weekly shifts only — Pattern Shifts and Annual shifts are not included in this release

  • “Future Shifts” and “Recurring Shifts” selection options are not enhanced and maintain current behaviour with no updates.

  • Editing shift start/end date, start/end time, break, and shift name is not supported when selecting All Shifts or Multiple Individual Shifts that include split weekly shifts

  • Applies to new weekly shifts only once the feature is enabled — no migration of existing fragmented shifts

  • Combined shift invitation notifications for split shifts are not included in this release and will follow in a subsequent update.

Known Limitations and Potential Impact

Please be aware of the following behaviour changes when this feature is enabled on your account:

"All Future Shifts" option unavailable after a split for weekly shifts

Once a weekly shift has been split, the "All Future Shifts" selection option is no longer available in the split shift dialog. To book future occurrences, consultants must manually select the relevant future dates using the "Individual Shifts" option if they want to book candidates to future shifts only.

Longer loading times when selecting “All Shifts”

When a weekly pattern has multiple split days, selecting “All Shifts” now loads all individual split child shifts (S1,S2, etc) in addition to the parent. Depending on the number of split days, this may result in longer wait times in the booking dialog.

Increased timesheet integration traffic

For tenants using TimeTemp, enabling this feature may result in longer sync time between Vincere and TimeTemp, as individual split shifts are now included in sync operations.

Changed booking workflow behaviour

This is a breaking change to how “All Shifts” works for existing weekly shifts with split days. Previously, selecting “All Shifts” would only include the original parent shift (S0). With this feature enabled, it includes all child shifts (S1, S2, S3…) as well.
