Use this guide to set up a branded domain for your Vincere Engage Job Portal. This allows you to remove “vincere.io” from your URL and display your own company domain (e.g., jobs.acerecruitment.com).

📌 Note: It may take several hours for the DNS changes to take effect, depending on your hosting provider.

Set Up a Custom Domain for Your Job Portal

To use a custom domain for your Vincere Job Portal, you need to:

  1. Get the CNAME target from Vincere.

  2. Add a CNAME record in your domain’s DNS settings.

  3. Save your custom domain in Vincere.

  4. Confirm the domain is working.

1. Get your CNAME target from Vincere

  1. In Vincere, go to Marketplace, then click Engage.

  2. Click Setup, then click Job Portal.

  3. Scroll to the Custom domain section.

  4. Copy the CNAME target shown there (for example qjb-lon.vincere.io).

Important: The CNAME target is different for each Vincere deployment region. Always use the value shown in your own Vincere Custom domain section.

2. Add a CNAME record in your DNS settings

  1. Log in to your domain or DNS provider (for example GoDaddy, Cloudflare, Wix, etc.).

  2. Go to your DNS settings, then add a new CNAME record.

  3. Use these values:

    • Type: CNAME

    • Host/Name: the subdomain you want to use (for example careers or jobs)

    • Target/Points to: paste the CNAME target you copied from Vincere (for example qjb-lon.vincere.io)

  4. Save your DNS changes.

📌 Note: DNS updates can take time to apply. This can often take up to 45 minutes, depending on your provider.

3. Add the custom domain in Vincere

  1. In Vincere, go to Marketplace, then click Engage.

  2. Click Setup, then click Job Portal.

  3. In Custom domain, enter your full domain (for example careers.yourdomain.com).

  4. Click Save.

4. Confirm it is working

  1. Open your custom domain (for example careers.yourdomain.com) in a browser.

  2. Check that it loads your Vincere Job Portal.

📌 Note: Vincere uses AWS hosting. Because IP addresses can change, always use a CNAME record, not a static IP address.

Configure a Custom Domain in Wix

Use these steps if your domain is managed in Wix.

1. Copy the CNAME target from Vincere

  1. In Vincere, go to Marketplace, then click Engage.

  2. Click Setup, then click Job Portal.

  3. In the Custom domain section, copy the CNAME target shown (for example qjb-lon.vincere.io).

2. Add the CNAME record in Wix

  1. In Wix, go to Domains.

  2. Select your domain, then click DNS (or DNS Records).

  3. Under CNAME (Aliases), click + Add Record.

  4. Enter:

    • Host Name: careers (or jobs, or your preferred subdomain)

    • Value: paste the CNAME target you copied from Vincere (for example qjb-lon.vincere.io)

  5. Save your changes.

3. Add the domain in Vincere

  3. Scroll down and add a new CNAME record.

  4. Enter the hostname (e.g., jobs, opportunities, careers).

    • Do not type your full domain name—only the hostname.

  5. In the Value field, enter:

    • Host Name: careers (or jobs, or your preferred subdomain)

    • Value: paste the CNAME target you copied from Vincere (for example qjb-lon.vincere.io)

  6. Click Save.

  7. In Vincere, go to Marketplace, then click on Engage.

  8. Click on Setup, then click Job Portal.

  9. Click on Custom Domain

  10. Paste your custom domain (e.g., opportunities.amazingfirm.com).

  11. Click Save to apply changes.

📌 Note: Your Vincere Engage site is enabled with HTTPS providing your site with an SSL certificate.

⚠️ Important: If you're having issues with viewing your site over a secure HTTPS connection, follow the steps below:

  1. Make sure your DNS record is configured correctly.

  2. Wait until your domain is propagated.

Please wait up to 72 hours to allow your domain to complete propagation.

💡 Best Practices

  • Always test your DNS configuration using tools such as nslookup, dig, or WhatsMyDNS before finalising.

  • Check that the CNAME value in your DNS settings exactly matches the CNAME target shown in your Vincere tenant.

    1. In Vincere, go to Marketplace, then click Engage.

    2. Then click Setup, then click Job Portal, then click Custom domain.

  • Allow several hours for DNS propagation after saving your changes.

🤔 FAQs

Q1: My SSL certificate is not working. What should I do?

  • Answer: If SSL fails, go back to Job Portal Site Settings in Vincere and click Save again to reissue the certificate.

Q2: Why does my URL show “Site Cannot Be Reached”?

  • Answer: This may happen if the DNS values are incorrect. Use WhatsMyDNS to check your records.

    • Green check marks = live domain.

    • Red X marks = DNS issue. Recheck your setup.

Q3: How long will it take for my custom domain to go live?

  • Answer: It usually takes a few hours for DNS changes to propagate, depending on your hosting provider.

By following these steps, you can efficiently remove ‘vincere.io’ from your URL and set up a custom domain. For further assistance, feel free to reach out to our support team.
