Manage Notifications

Learn how notifications work in Vincere and how to configure them on desktop and mobile devices.

Stay informed wherever you are with Vincere Notifications. This guide explains how notifications are triggered, who receives them, how to manage your preferences, and how to troubleshoot notification issues.

Important: You must have access to Comms Hub to configure notification settings. Admin users can enable Comms Hub from Settings, then Marketplace, then Vincere Comms.


Understand How Notifications Work

Notifications in Vincere help you stay updated on key actions and communications. You can receive both Email Notifications and In-App Notifications (real-time push alerts in Vincere).

  • All notifications are stored under the Bell icon between your Comms Hub and User Profile once configured.

Configure Notifications on Desktop

  1. From your Vincere account, click Comms Hub next to the + Add icon.

    • If you do not have a Comms Hub account, follow the onscreen instructions to create one.

  2. Click your profile photo in the top-left corner of Comms Hub to access your Notification Settings.

  3. Select Vincere Notifications, then choose which activity notifications you want to receive.

  4. To mute specific notifications, toggle them OFF.

    • For example, toggle off New Application to stop alerts for new applications.

  5. To mute all notifications, toggle ON “Mute all notifications.”

    • This disables both the push notifications and the notification sound.

📌 Note: The first time you receive a notification, your browser will prompt you to allow push notifications. Select Allow.

Mute Notification Sound in Chrome

  1. Open Chrome and go to Settings.

  2. Click Privacy and Security, then Site Settings.

  3. Under Permissions, select Notifications.

  4. Find your Vincere tenant URL, click the arrow, then locate Sound and select Mute.

  5. Return to Vincere and click Reload to apply the changes.


Configure Notifications on Vincere Mobile App

  1. Open the Vincere Mobile App on your device.
    💡 Pro Tip: If you haven’t installed the app yet, install Vincere Mobile App to access Vincere anywhere, anytime.

  2. Tap the hamburger icon in the top-left corner, then select Settings at the bottom.

  3. Tap Notification Settings.

  4. To mute specific notifications, toggle them OFF.

  5. To mute all notifications, toggle ON “Mute all push notifications.”

This will automatically stop push notifications and mute sound alerts.


Notifications in Comms Hub

Comms Hub keeps you informed of all new messages and interactions.

When You’ll Receive Notifications

  • When someone sends you a direct message.

  • When someone notifies a channel you’re in.

  • When someone @mentions you.

  • When someone replies to a thread you follow.

  • When you receive a message from VinnyBot.

A numbered badge appears on your Comms Hub icon to indicate unread conversations.

📌 Note: The badge represents the number of conversations, not the total number of unread messages.

Push Notifications

You’ll receive push notifications when Comms Hub is open.

📌 Note: Your browser will prompt you to enable notifications. Select Allow to continue.

Sidebar Notifications

Unread chats or groups appear bold in the sidebar.
A numbered badge appears next to a conversation if you’ve been mentioned.

To mute notifications from a group:

  1. Click the ℹ️ icon in the top-right corner of the group.

  2. Toggle OFF Notifications to mute updates from that group.

Email Notifications

You’ll receive an email alert when someone @mentions you or gives a shout-out.
Click Open in VinnyChat in the email to open the conversation directly.


Troubleshoot Notification Issues

If you’re not receiving notifications, your browser or desktop settings may be blocking them.

  1. Open Chrome and go to Settings.

  2. Click Privacy and Security, then Site Settings.

  3. Under Permissions, select Notifications.

  4. Locate your Vincere tenant URL:

    • If listed under Blocked, click the three dots and select Allow.

    • To fix sound issues, click the arrow, locate Sound, then select Allow.

If issues persist, record your browser settings, your notification settings in Comms Hub, and the issue. Contact the Support Team via the Help Center.

  • Review your notification preferences quarterly to avoid unnecessary alerts.

  • Keep browser permissions updated for push notifications.

  • Enable Comms Hub in all devices for consistent message delivery.

Q1: Why can’t I see Comms Hub in my Vincere account?

  • Answer: Only Admins can enable Comms Hub from Settings, then Marketplace, then Vincere Comms.

Q2: How does Vincere count unread messages?

  • Answer: The badge number shows the number of conversations with unread messages, not the total message count.
