Geotagging in Vincere lets you map addresses through Google Maps, enabling powerful location-based recruitment strategies. Use this feature to search, filter, and visualize Candidates, Jobs, Contacts, and Companies geographically for better hiring insights.
⚠️ Important: Vincere's location search works on straight-line distance, not real-world travel routes.
Geotag a Record in Vincere
Go to the record you want to geotag — this can be Candidates, Jobs, Contacts, or Companies.
Click the Location field and type the address you want to map.
Choose a valid address from the Google Maps suggestions to ensure it appears in radius and location-based searches.
Adjust the map pin manually if required; the address updates automatically.
For Jobs, keep the Location name field generic (for example, London HQ). This field syncs with your Instant Job Board or website, so avoid entering full street addresses.
📌 Note: Only addresses selected from Google Maps suggestions are eligible for radius and location-based searches.
View and Use Geotagged Records
Once your records are geotagged, you can leverage Vincere’s location-based tools:
Run a radius search to find candidates within a set distance (for example, 15 km from London).
Display results in Table View or Google Map View.
Access candidate details such as CVs directly from the results page.
Use Google Street View to explore a candidate’s area virtually.
📌 Note: The Show search result in map view option is available only for candidate radius searches.

Auto Geotagging for Candidate Locations
Vincere now automatically assigns geographic coordinates to a candidate's current location whenever it is created or updated with address information. This means candidates appear in radius searches straight away, with no manual geocoding needed.
When to use
When you save a candidate's current location with a valid address, Vincere automatically pins them on the map so they show up in radius searches — no extra steps required.
Auto geotagging works across all the following methods:
Candidate Profile — editing the Location panel directly.
Quick Add Candidate — adding a candidate with a current location via the Quick Add form.
Data Import — bulk importing candidates with location data.
Candidate Merge — the master candidate's location is automatically geotagged.
REST API v2 integrations — including the Velocity Chrome Extension, third-party integrations, and custom API clients.
Job board integrations — candidates received via Broadbean or Logic Melon.
Minimum Address Requirements
For geocoding to work, the candidate's current location must include at least one of the following:
City and Country, or
A full street address (street, city, and country).
Why It Matters
No more invisible candidates — Candidates with valid address data automatically appear in radius searches, so you won't miss potential matches.
Save time — There is no longer a need to manually geocode each candidate record, saving 2–3 minutes per record.
Better placements — More candidates visible in location searches means more opportunities to find the right match.
📌 Note: Auto geotagging applies only to a candidate's current location when it is created or updated after this feature is released. Existing location records without geocoordinates are not retroactively geocoded. This release covers candidate current location records only — other entity types such as Contacts and Companies, and other location types, are not included in this phase.
FAQs
Q1: Can I customize Google Maps suggestions within Vincere?
Answer: No, this functionality is controlled by Google. You can, however, manually edit the Location name field after selecting an address.
Q2: Why can’t I see some addresses in my radius search results?
Answer: Only addresses selected from Google Maps suggestions appear in location-based searches. Ensure you’ve chosen a valid address during geotagging.
Q3: How can I fix incorrect or unexpected address mapping?
Answer: If the suggested address is inaccurate, select the closest available option or manually enter the full address in the Location name field. If issues persist, clear your browser cache or update to the latest browser version.
Q4: I can't geotag a candidate. Why is the map not showing?
Answer: The map might not be showing for a few reasons. First, make sure you're selecting an address from the Google Maps suggestions dropdown when typing in the Location field - only these addresses will work properly for geotagging. Please open Vincere in an incognito window and try geotagging again. If it works, clear your browser cache by going to Settings, and click Privacy and Security, then Delete browsing data, choose "All time", and selecting "Cookies and cached images and files" so you don't need to keep going incognito anymore.
Q5: Why isn’t the candidate’s suburb showing in the ‘Town/City’ column in List View?
If the candidate’s suburb isn’t showing in the Town/City column, it usually means the Town/City field isn’t populated on their profile.
Open the Candidate profile.
Go to Summary, then click on Details.
Open the current details/address record (the latest update).
Edit the Town/City field (enter the suburb if needed) and save.
After saving, refresh the List View and the Town/City column should display the updated value.
Q6: How is the distance on the radius search calculated?
Vincere's location search works on straight-line distance, not real-world travel routes.
